On site massage is ideal for an office or an event environment. The benefits of massage are numerous. On site massage relieves muscle stiffness, helps to prevent and alleviate symptoms of repetitive strain injuries, reduces the likelihood of stress related illnesses, improves work performance and boosts morale. As an employer, you can use massage to broaden and compliment existing stress management tools.

Seated massage – comfortable, clothed massage for the office. Chair Massage is a clothed, non-oil, massage with clients seated comfortably on an ergonomically designed massage chair including massage of the back, shoulders, neck, arms and hands. Inspirit London offers a range of seated massages to easily fit into a working or event environment. Traditional Thai Massage. A clothed, non-oil seated massage on a cushioned mat using acupressure and applied yoga stretches to open the energy lines of the body, unlock the joints and increase flexibility. Reflexology A seated massage stimulating its reflex points to give benefit to the whole body, including relief from insomnia and stress. Hand Massage. A seated massage of the arm and hands to loosen the muscles and work between the tendons, providing relief for frequent computer users.

Prevent and treat RSI

Massage in the office – tackle RSIs and reduce stress. Office massage is being used by forward-thinking companies as an employee health and wellbeing tool, with massage being used to prevent and treat repetitive strain injury (RSI). RSI is a term applied to a number of overuse injuries affecting the soft tissues (muscles, tendons, and nerves) of the neck, upper and lower back, chest, shoulders, arms and hands. These injuries, if not treated by eg massage therapy, can become crippling disorders that prevent sufferers from working. With a sharp rise in RSIs, and office workers facing new maladies such as 'mouse arm' and "blackberry thumb", office massage is increasingly in demand. Employers lose almost £300 million per year in working time, sick pay and administration (HSE). In 2006-07, an estimated 3.5 million working days were lost due to RSI, with each person affected taking over 13 days off sick (HSE). Massage helps to reduce tension and stress in the body and if the massage work is targeted to RSI related structures, symptoms can be relieved. Office massage is a valuable part of a comprehensive health and safety strategy to effectively tackle this problem.

Work massage to reduce stress

Work massage: reducing stress. Work massage helps to reduce the stress levels of your employees. Work-related stress accounts for over a third of all new incidences of ill health and employers lost a total of 13.5 million working days to work-related stress, depression and anxiety in 2007/08 (HSE). The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (1999) requires companies to assess risks from hazards at work, explicitly mentioning the danger of employees developing stress-related illness as a result of their jobs. Massage enables companies to meet these legal health and safety requirements and massage will improve work performance. Massage works by decreasing blood pressure, calming the nervous system and boosting morale, thereby reducing stress levels among the workforce. As part of a comprehensive health and safety strategy, massage can help to effectively tackle stress in the workplace.
